My therapeutic focus, is on the long term companioning of individuals in developing creative skills, creating work in their preferred modalities and producing creative assets for exhibition or sale. The therapeutic benefits are derived from building a trusting, safe relationship, with the opportunity to make sense of ones life through the exploration of the creative process.
My supports provide therapeutic benefits for health and mental well-being as well as improving self-confidence and self-esteem. The long-term nature of my creative therapeutic support, provides participants with time to learn skills and build resilience. After all, not everything always goes right..! Working towards goals of art exhibitions, a self published collection of poems and/or illustrations or the production of items for sale, creates the opportunity for contact with others, builds skills in interpersonal negotiation and provides opportunity for community participation.
